My love for painting started when I was a child. I had a very nomadic childhood and grew up travelling around Europe .
I absolutely loved that way of living and hope to have a similar lifestyle someday.
My travels opened my eyes to the beautiful world around me and I observed from a young age as a passenger in the family car whilst we were driving from Turin to Almadraba in Spain how the landscapes from country to country were vastly different from each other, and how a country is defined by its landscape, and how vast open spaces make me feel free. I found it fascinating and i still do, and that’s what inspired me to paint landscapes.
The process starts with me driving through the Berkshire countryside.
I start by taking a series of photographs to use as reference in the studio. I map out the structure of the painting using simple pencil strokes on canvas. After the painting has been blocked in, I apply different shades of colour in oil and transform the painting into a tranquil scene.
People say they can imagine relaxing under one of my paintings with a good book and nice cup of coffee
